Be Our Guest...set to open soon in new Fantasy Land!

I know many of you have been waiting for the grand opening of "Be Our Guest" restaurant in the new Fantasy Land in Magic Kingdom.  Although we do not have dates as of yet, here is a sneak peek from Disney with some menu details and how the restaurant will run.  Basically during Lunch the restaurant will run as a Counter Service with Kiosks to order food and it will be delivered to your table.  Kind of like a modern Jack in the Box but with much better food and decor.  During Dinner the restaurant transforms into a Casual Dining Sitdown Service where your order is taken Tableside and the menu drastically changes.  No word yet if either option will be included on the Disney Dining Plan, but as soon as I know, I will bring you that information.

  1. UPDATE!!! As promised, we have an update on Be Our Guest and how it fits into the Disney Dining Plan. It is official that the counter service Lunch will be counted as 1 Quick Service Credit and Dinner will be counted as 1 Casual (sit down) dining credit. This is great news for those of us who are fans of the plan. Those of you that are fans of Beauty and the Beast will appreciate the decor they have come up with. In order to put the focus on the Beast's Enchanted Rose, they have gone all out with the Rose Theme throughout the restaurant. From the lighting, the floor, the furniture and the architecture. Check out these amazing photos taken from inside the restaurant. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2012/07/24/sneak-peek-the-enchanted-rose-takes-center-stage-at-be-our-guest-restaurant/ They plan on taking reservations in late August for dining during the Holidays but exact dates for either have yet to be published. Once we know, you will know.

  2. Ok, got a little behind the 8 ball on the Blog, and as most of you are already aware, Be Our Guest is open for business. If you want to try this experience, make sure you get your reservations 180 days out. I tried to make reservations and was unsuccessful for any of the days we plan to stay. Until everyone has tried this experience, this will remain a hot spot and hard to get in for casual dining.

  3. Figured out the Magic to getting into Be Our Guest casual evening dining. I went into the restaurant on our first day in Magic Kingdom this year and spoke with a reservation supervisor. The fact is that although it is hard to difficult to get your 180 day reservation at this location, that is still a hot spot after a couple of years in existence, we have the answer. Daily the restaurant has a handful of same day reservations they keep open for walk up guests. You can only get these on the day of the reservation. So while everyone is running to get in the Frozen Meet and Greet line, continue onward into the entrance to new Fantasy land and stop at the reservation booth out front and wait. Once they set up their computers, the cast member will issue out reservations on a first come first served basis. Be flexible with your schedule if you want to enjoy some of the "Grey Stuff". We got a reservation for 5pm and were able to wait a little extra to be seated in the forbidden "West Wing" of the castle. The food was above average, although not the best we have had. Service was pretty average, but the atmosphere and décor were out of this world. You really felt transported to a different world, especially in the dark and tattered private wing of the Beast's home. We had lightning flash through a window, and watched petals fall from the glass cased rose. The Desert Cart was impressive, and as advertised, the Grey Stuff was delicious.
